Durgesh Kumar Atal
A proud native of the Pink City, Durgesh finds most of his inspiration in Rajasthani culture — the safa, or turban, worn by the common man, sits close to his heart, and forms the core of his work alongside a strong gaze, rustic features, and the wrinkled skin of everyday struggle.
Turbans belonging to old, rural, and classic styles reverberate most with his thought process. He deliberately paints larger than life, pulling the viewer’s attention in from a distance — a scale that suits everything from a café feature wall to a 60-foot event backdrop. That range shows in the client list: restaurant and café walls, corporate and street graffiti, private residences, and live portraits painted in front of wedding guests — in Jaipur, and as far as Dubai’s International Financial Centre.
